A studio for hosts who notice the difference.
Kikwetu Backyard Eventistry began with a simple frustration: most event companies in Nairobi sell decoration. We wanted to build something closer to what a boutique architecture studio does for a building — a single point of view, carried through every detail, from the first sketch to the last guest leaving.
Experience design, not decoration.
Decoration is applied after the fact. Design is decided before it. We start every engagement by asking what the event is actually for — a wedding, a gala, a homecoming — and let that answer shape the layout, the palette, and the pace of the day, rather than beginning with a Pinterest board and working backwards.
That distinction is the whole business. It's why our clients tend to be hosts who have already been disappointed once by someone who could execute a checklist but couldn't make a judgment call.
Built for hosts with exacting standards.
Luxury weddings
Corporate & embassy events
Private family celebrations
Diaspora hosts planning from abroad
Three things we won't compromise on.
One point of direction
Every vendor, every supplier, every detail answers to a single design lead — never a committee of good intentions.
Nothing arbitrary
If a color, material, or layout choice can't be explained, it doesn't go in the plan.
Calm on the day
A well-run event is invisible in its running. If you can see us working, we haven't done our job.
